Navigating Global Opportunities: A Recap of International Education Week at UTD

December 11, 2023

International Education Week (IEW) recently took center stage on our campus, and we’re thrilled to share the highlights of this enriching experience. From November 13 to 17, IEW was busy with many events sponsored by the International Center, EPPS, JSOM, UN Association, Global Mobility Club, Intercultural Programs, Center for Teaching and Learning, Office of Graduate Education, Office of Research and Integrity, and others. IEW is a reminder of the transformative power of global diversity. It provides a forum for highlighting the advantages of global communication and equips people to prosper in a world that is becoming more interconnected by the day.

The UT Dallas International Center’s steadfast dedication was the driving force behind this week’s presence on campus. The Center promoted our university colleagues’ commitment to establishing meaningful interchange, highlighting the variety of options accessible, and establishing an atmosphere that supports cross-cultural learning. We emphasized the university’s dedication to offering the UTD community a comprehensive, internationally-focused education.

Insights from the Diplomat in Residence:

We had the privilege of hosting Daniel Stewart, the Diplomat in Residence for Texas from the Department of State, who gave us insightful information about the plethora of opportunities the department offers to students pursuing a variety of degrees. In his talk, he emphasized the value of developing global ideas and educating the next generation of leaders for a globalized society.

Diverse Workshops and Events:

There were more than twenty workshops and events during the week, from enlightening discussions about studying abroad to specialized workshops assisting our international students.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for International Education Week 2024, which is scheduled for November 11-15.
